Hello! My name is Halei Honeycutt and I am first-year at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. I make abstract art and have been fascinated by shapes and colors for almost my entire life. I enjoy designing cards and using colors and shapes to express myself. Many of my art pieces that you see on the home page are cards that I've made for family and friends.
The beginning of my art journey would be when I was younger and I made Rainbow Loom bracelets and Fuse Beads. I would sit for hours working on these projects, spending most of the time choosing the perfect colors and making it look exactly the way I want it. When I was in 6th grade, I began experimenting with colors again. I started off by filling pages full of lines of color. Eventually those lines turned into more complex shapes and patterns, and those basic shapes and patterns are still seen in pieces I create today. I can't wait to continue creating art and to learn more about the world of art. Some of my favorite artists include Sol LeWitt, Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso, and Frank Stella. Each of these artists use colors in shapes in their artwork that I find to be beautiful and unique. It's very interesting to see how each of them use colors and shapes to create a piece of art.
